Just admit it, we’ve all had a workplace crush. Maybe even an office romance. Naturally, you spend a lot of time with the people you work with, and sometimes you just can’t but help to catch feelings for your coworkers. Some of Hollywood’s most famous power couples were actually co-stars before they were lovers.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively
Cmon, just look at the way they look at each other. Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively met in 2010 on the set of Green Lantern. However, at the time, they were both with other people. Later in the year, they both ended their respective relationships, and in October of 2011, it was confirmed that the two were dating. A year later, they tied the knot, and since then they have stolen the hearts of many. The couple has three daughters together: James (5), Inez (3), and 9 month old Betty.
Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart
Cole Sprouse and his now ex-girlfriend Lili Reinhart met on the set of Riverdale in 2016. While fans speculated that there was a spark between the co-stars, the two were clearly very close friends. Though the two dodged these rumors for a long time, it was finally confirmed at the Met Gala in 2018 that they were a pair. For the remainder of their relationship, the two remained very private. The couple parted ways in March of 2020, and Reinhart recently came out as bisexual in June.
Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens
It was “The Start of Something New” for the co-stars of High School Musical when they met in 2005. Zac and Vanessa played an on-screen couple, Troy and Gabriella in the hit Disney movie series. Their love transferred from innocent, high school romance while on-screen, to a real-life smoke show. Zanessa stayed together for five years and split in 2010. Unfortunately, the couple has not kept in touch since they said, “I Gotta Go My Own Way.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Ahhhh, Brangelina. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are perhaps one of Hollywood’s most famous (former) couples. Brad and Angelina met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004. At the time, Pitt was married to Friends star, Jennifer Aniston. In 2005, they divorced and in the same year a romance bloomed between Pitt and Jolie. During their iconic relationship, the couple had six kids: Maddox (19), Pax (16), Zahara (15), John (14), Knox (12) and Vivienne (12). Sadly, the pair split in September of 2016.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
Another hot couple of the 2010s were Twilight co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The couple met on the set of the vampire romance movie in 2007. Rumors of a relationship between the two became a hot topic after the premiere of the move in 2008. The couple had such great chemistry both on and off-screen. The couple rang in the new year and debuted their relationship in 2010 when they embarked on a tropical vacation together. Let’s just say that fans went wild. Sadly, the couple split in 2012 when news broke that K Stew had an affair with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders.
6 Celebrities With Surprising Former Jobs
Although it may be hard to believe – not all of our favorite celebs were born into stardom. Before they became the faces that we see everyday on TV and magazines, some of these stars came from pretty interesting nine-to-five jobs.
Check out some of the most surprising pre-fame jobs:
1. Rachel McAdams
Before Rachel McAdams became one of Hollywood’s favorite actresses, she spent her days working at McDonald’s. “[I worked at McDonald’s] for a good three years,” the A-lister told Glamour magazine. “I was not a great employee; I broke the orange juice machine one day.” She even admitted for getting yelled for washing her hands too much!
2. Kayne West
The rapper and fashion icon may have teamed up with Gap stores to release the new Yeezy Gap line – but did you know this isn’t West’s first time working with the brand. As a teen, he worked as a sales assistant at a Gap store in Chicago. “Even though I worked at the Gap, I didn’t get enough hours to get a discount because I was a part-time employee, because I went to high school,” he wrote in an article for the Paper magazine.
3. Channing Tatum
No wonder the Magic Mike star looked so believable on camera – Channing’s had some experience as a stripper when he was just 19 years old! The actor began working at a strip club in Tampa, Florida, eight months after high school. Under the stage name ‘Chan Crawford,’ the 21 Jump Street actor earned $50 a night plus tips.
4. Christopher Walken
Perhaps the most shocking of former celeb job, Christopher Walken worked as a lion Tamer in a circus! Only 16 at the time, Walken would perform with a lioness named Sheba at a touring circus. He said that Sheba was “very sweet, like a dog” in a previous Vanity Fair interview.
Being a Material Girl can get expensive! So there’s nothing wrong with Madonna taking a part time job as a cashier at Dunkin’ Donuts when she first moved to NYC in 1978 – though it didn’t last too long. In fact, the legendary singer and dancer was fired after just for one for accidentally squirting a jelly-filled donut over a customer. She said that her Dunkin managers were annoyed at her because she wasn’t “taking the job seriously” in a 2015 interview with Howard Stern.
6. Hugh Jackman
Although you may know him as Wolverine in the X-Men series, Jackman’s commitment to staying buff started long before he landed the iconic role. He worked as a PE teacher at Uppingham School in Rutland in 1987. OMG imagine Hugh Jackman as your gym teacher! Jackman actually ran into one of his former students at the Zurich Film Festival in 2013– and remembered him by name!
“Friends” Cast: Where Are They Now?
Who knew on September 22, 1994 that one of the funniest, timeless and most popular sitcoms of all time would air when NBC first premiered the series Friends. Focusing on the lives of Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Ross Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Chandler Bing, and Joey Tribbiani, we followed the cast through their hilarious antics and complicated love lives.
Despite their 10 season run, fans still can’t get enough of this friend group and gossip about a possible reunion for the cast since the show ended in 2004.
And luckily for us, HBO delivered. The streaming platform announced in 2020 that the iconic cast would reunite for an unscripted reunion special on HBO MAX. “Guess you could call this ‘The One Where They Get Back Together,’” HBO Max’s Chief Content Officer Kevin Reilly said in a statement.
Although it was set to launch in May, it was unfortunately pushed back due to the pandemic and the new release date is still up in the air. While we wait anxiously in anticipation for the reunion special, let’s recap to see what our favorite friend group has been up to since the hit show.
After Friends, Jennifer has starred in many bigtime roles such as Marley & Me (2008), He’s Just Not That Into You (2009), We’re The Millers (2013), and Netflix hit comedy Murder Mystery (2019). In 2019, she returned to television to serve as an executive producer on Apple TV Plus’ “The Morning Show,” which earned her a SAG Award. A second season of the drama series is currently on the way.
Believe it or not, Schwimmer is known to the younger generation as Melman the giraffe in the animated Madagascar films. He made his debut as a director in Run, Fat Boy, Run (2007), and had a recurring role on the “Will & Grace” revival. Schwimmer also starred as Robert Kardashian on “The People VS. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” (2016). Today, he currently stars on the sitcom “Intelligence,” a British television sitcom released on Peacock in 2020.
Post-Friends, Cox starred in her own show “Cougar Town” (2009-2015), which lasted six seasons (It began on ABS and concluded on TBS). She also appeared on “Shameless,” “Modern Family,” and “Drunk History.” She hosted and produced 9 months with Courteney Cox in 2019. She will reprise her role as Gale Weathers in the upcoming movie Scream 5.
Perry stole the hearts of the younger generation when he starred as Mike O’Donnell in the classic comedy 17 Again (2009). He also appeared in TV series like “Mr Sunshine,” The Good Wife,” “Go On,” and “The Off Couple.” In November 2020, Perry got engaged to his girlfriend Molly Hurwitz.
After Friends, Kudrow appeared in movies like P.S. I Love You (2007), Hotel For Dogs (2009), Easy A (2010), and The Girl On The Train (2016). She landed parts on ABC’S series “Scandal” and voice acted for “BoJack Horseman.” Kudrow created and starred in the Showtime series, “Web Therapy,” which got nominated for a Primetime Emmy. In 2020, she landed a recurring role on Netflix’s Space Force with Steve Carell.
After the sitcom, LaBlanc actually landed a spin-off series called “Joey”(2004-2006), which was cancelled after two seasons. Since then, he has focused on behind the scenes efforts, and co-produced the film The Prince (2006). He starred on the show “Episodes” from 2011 to 2017, and earned him a Golden Globe. LeBlanc also co-hosted Top Gear from 2016 to 2019.
They were on a break – but it will be over soon. Who else is excited for the Friends reunion special?
Fans Are Holding Harry Styles Accountable: “Harry Wear A Mask”
Harry Styles is the latest celebrity to get called out on social media. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve seen a large increase in fans holding some of their favorite celebs accountable.
How Do Celebs Get “Cancelled”?
Known as “Cancel Culture,” people have used social media to “cancel” celebrities who are not wearing masks, seen traveling, and not social distancing. From Timothée Chalamet to Madonna, many fans have exposed their idols, urging them to remember that there is a pandemic going on.
It appears it is now Harry’s turn to be reminded of that pandemic. Earlier in the month, Harry Styles was spotted with rumored girlfriend Olivia Wilde at the wedding of Jeffrey Azoff (Styles’ agent).
While fans have mainly been supportive of Styles’ unconfirmed relationship, many were disappointed to see him without a mask at the reception. Later in the week, Styles was spotted again with friends out and about in Santa Barbara, once again without a mask.
To make matters worse, Harry lives in Los Angeles, where there has been a large spike in COVID-19 cases recently. With nearly one in four people testing positive, the number of people being hospitalized are at a record high and many hospitals can’t keep up.
Fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment, especially after this image surfaced on January 6th of Styles in a roofless car with 5 people.
“hi @Harry_Styles i love you, you know that. but you’re being so irresponsible right now and it’s incredibly sad to see.” one fan tweeted, in response to the image of Styles in the car.
Other fan asks the public to hold Harry and his friends accountable; “just because he’s harry styles doesn’t mean he should be allowed to do…”
On January 6th, the phrase “HARRY WEAR A MASK” became the 21st top trending phrase on Twitter worldwide. The backlash continued as more photos of Styles were released throughout the day. “People are using gift shops to house Covid-19 patients… don’t be like harry, wear a mask!” another tweeted.
Why Are Styles’ Fans So Upset?
Many fans are calling Harry out because of how outspoken he is on social media, urging others to take Coronavirus seriously. Although he had a tour scheduled for 2020, he decided to reschedule it early in March, tweeting “Anyone who knows me, knows that performing has been my favorite part of working in music. However, during times like these, the safety and protection of touring crew, fans, and everyone else around the world is an immediate priority.”
Since these images have surfaced, stans on Twitter believe that the “Watermelon Sugar” singer is not taking COVID seriously and is being a huge hypocrite.
“[Harry] has preached staying at home & saving lives all throughout the pandemic. he is just being so hypocritical,” one fan tweeted, alongside screenshots of Harry tweeting to following health guidelines.
Despite thousands of disheartened fans, they emphasize they are not trying to “cancel” Styles. “We are not trying to get Harry cancelled, we are simply educating him on the lives that have been taken by not wearing masks…” another tweeted.
We hope Harry and Olivia takes the advice to heart, especially since filming has halted in Wilde’s upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling after a member of the film crew contracted COVID in November.
