Fashion Must-Haves For Your (Socially Distant) Holiday Gathering

Let’s face it, with more and more of us living in messy buns, blue light glasses, and sweat sets these days, any gal is just looking for an excuse to put together a cute outfit. With the holiday season just around the corner, and Thanksgiving in just a few short weeks, it’s time to dust off your favorite pair booties and get ready to slay your (socially distant) holiday gathering!

Leather Leggings

Appetizers, dinner, dessert, drinks…don’t act as you’ve never had to unbutton your jeans at your holiday dinner. Nothing says comfort like a pair of leggings. But what if we told you there’s a fancier spin that is warming up just in time for the holidays? Leather leggings have been a hot trend this season. And for good reason. Comfortable and chic–who wouldn’t want to wear these? They are so versatile! They can be dressed up with a sweater and booties, or made more casual with your favorite graphic tee and a jean jacket.

While Thanksgiving dinner may not scream “business casual,” hear us out. Blazers are an amazing way to instantly dress up any outfit. The best part is that they come in so many different colors and prints. And they can be styled so many ways. Many fashion bloggers pair it with a crop top, jeans, and heels for a chic look. It looks just as good with a bodysuit (bonus points for turtleneck), jeans, and boots.

Sheer Blouses

Sheer blouses are one of the latest and greatest “going out” trends this season. You might not want to wear this one around your family, but it’s perfect for Thanksgiving Eve (did someone say Blackout Wednesday?!), or even New Years’ Eve. While some blouses have just mesh sleeves with a solid midsection, others are fully sheer. Not a problem, layer with your favorite bralette or tank top! Tuck it into a pair of jeans and embellish with a belt, and you are ready for a night on the town!

Nasty Gal

The holiday season also brings along colder weather, which means cold legs for the ladies that opt for a dress during the holidays. But who wants to wear a boring pair of tights to keep warm? Thats right, nobody! Many fashion influencers have been promoting designer tights to instantly make any dressier outfit more boujee. Don’t wanna pay a pretty penny? Plently of sites like Amazon and Etsy offer dupes at a much lower price. But you didn’t hear that from us. Shhhh…

Fun Sweaters

What’s a holiday gathering without a sweater? And we aren’t talking about your average cardigan. There have been so many fun renditions of sweaters that have been hot this fall. One of our favorites is funky sleeves. Additions like fringe can automatically dress up any outfit. Fringe sleeved sweaters do exactly that.

This holiday season, be sure to put those sweats into the hamper and put your best foot forward. Put on the jeans. So what if you have to unbutton them!

Happy Holidays!

Prince Charles Releases Royally Expensive Fashion Line

Move over Versace, Prince Charles is making a name for himself in the fashion world – and we are as shocked as you. The 72-year-old-heir to the British throne is moving into uncharted waters as he unveils a new clothing collection styled for both men and women.

The Prince of Wales has long been labeled as an environmental activist but on November 12th, 2020 he took a stance against fast fashion by revealing a sustainable, high-end clothing collection.

The Prince’s Foundation collaborated with Yoox Net-a-Porter (one of the largest luxury retailers) to produce this collection that features 10 items for women and 8 for men. Named “The Modern Artisan Project,” the collection was designed by students at Politecnico di Milano in Italy and manufactured by UK’S Dumfries House graduates.

The fabrics for the collection are tailor-made with organic silk from Italy and wool and cashmere brought in from Scottish textile firms.

According to Prince Charles, each work is inspired by the work of Leonardo da Vinci – but that means paying a pretty penny for these high-end items. The most affordable item in the collection is a cashmere turtleneck sweater costing a whopping $475 dollars.

Other items in the collection include a dark gray cashmere blazer for $1,350, a royal blue cashmere jumpsuit for $1,095, and a pleated ivory silk shirt for $775. All the profits will be donated to the Prince’s Foundation, a charity created in 2018 that creates design training programs and helps people get hired.

Federico Marchetti, Chairman and CEO of Yoox Net-a-Porter group was thrilled to collaborate with Prince Charles, considerably the most stylish member of the royal family.

“It’s been a real pleasure to collaborate with The Prince of Wales on this long-term project, as he has been a champion of sustainability for over 50 years. He was already talking about the effects of plastic in 1969, the year I was born,” Marchetti told TownAndCountryMag.

Although the line is expensive, we think is it great that the Prince of Wales is taking steps against fast fashion and emphasizing sustainability practices rather than throwing out old or damaged clothing.

This collection will be sold on the Net-A-Porter website. For more information on how to feel like royalty, check out the Modern Artisan Project here.
