Ellen Degeneres apologizes to staff, but some don’t buy it.

Earlier this week, Ellen Degeneres made a public apology for the controversy surrounding work misconduct allegations.

“As you may have heard, this summer, there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show, and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously, and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power, and I realize that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show,”

While many appreciated the heartfelt apology, some current/former Ellen employees still weren’t satisfied. According to Buzzfeed News “they didn’t appreciate DeGeneres making light of their allegations of toxicity, racism, sexual harassment, and misconduct by sarcastically asking viewers, ‘How was everybody’s summer? Good, yeah? Mine was great. Super terrific’ and proceeding to say, ‘Let me give you some advice out there if anybody’s thinking of changing their title or giving yourself a nickname, do not go with the ‘be kind’ lady. Don’t do it.”

“Not only did Ellen turn my trauma, turn our traumas, into a joke, she somehow managed to make this about her”

In early July, news blew up that several employees from the Ellen Degeneres show experienced racism, misconduct, sexual harassment, and fear while working for the mega host. Apparently majority of this negative treatment came from producers ;however, people felt it was still Ellen’s responsibility. Unfortunately, this will probably not be the last of the scandal and the apologies.

USA Today

“There’s nothing wrong with being the ‘be kind’ lady if you’re actually true to your word.”

The daytime show returned September 18th, and will continue filming without a live studio audience until further notice.

Five Celebrity Co-Stars that Also Dated

Just admit it, we’ve all had a workplace crush. Maybe even an office romance. Naturally, you spend a lot of time with the people you work with, and sometimes you just can’t but help to catch feelings for your coworkers. Some of Hollywood’s most famous power couples were actually co-stars before they were lovers.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

Photo by Dia Dipasupil/Getty Images For Entertainment Weekly

Cmon, just look at the way they look at each other. Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively met in 2010 on the set of Green Lantern. However, at the time, they were both with other people. Later in the year, they both ended their respective relationships, and in October of 2011, it was confirmed that the two were dating. A year later, they tied the knot, and since then they have stolen the hearts of many. The couple has three daughters together: James (5), Inez (3), and 9 month old Betty.

Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart

Cole Sprouse and his now ex-girlfriend Lili Reinhart met on the set of Riverdale in 2016. While fans speculated that there was a spark between the co-stars, the two were clearly very close friends. Though the two dodged these rumors for a long time, it was finally confirmed at the Met Gala in 2018 that they were a pair. For the remainder of their relationship, the two remained very private. The couple parted ways in March of 2020, and Reinhart recently came out as bisexual in June.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens

Teen Vogue

It was “The Start of Something New” for the co-stars of High School Musical when they met in 2005. Zac and Vanessa played an on-screen couple, Troy and Gabriella in the hit Disney movie series. Their love transferred from innocent, high school romance while on-screen, to a real-life smoke show. Zanessa stayed together for five years and split in 2010. Unfortunately, the couple has not kept in touch since they said, “I Gotta Go My Own Way.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Ahhhh, Brangelina. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are perhaps one of Hollywood’s most famous (former) couples. Brad and Angelina met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004. At the time, Pitt was married to Friends star, Jennifer Aniston. In 2005, they divorced and in the same year a romance bloomed between Pitt and Jolie. During their iconic relationship, the couple had six kids: Maddox (19), Pax (16), Zahara (15), John (14), Knox (12) and Vivienne (12). Sadly, the pair split in September of 2016.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Harper’s Bazaar

Another hot couple of the 2010s were Twilight co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The couple met on the set of the vampire romance movie in 2007. Rumors of a relationship between the two became a hot topic after the premiere of the move in 2008. The couple had such great chemistry both on and off-screen. The couple rang in the new year and debuted their relationship in 2010 when they embarked on a tropical vacation together. Let’s just say that fans went wild. Sadly, the couple split in 2012 when news broke that K Stew had an affair with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders.

Best Red Carpet Looks from the 2020 People’s Choice Awards

Although this year has been full of cancelled and postponed award shows, movie premieres and concerts, we finally got a taste of the glamorous Hollywood fashion we had been missing out on with the People’s Choice Awards that aired on Sunday, Nov. 15th.

The 46th annual award show celebrated the year’s best in television, film and music. It took place in Santa Monica, California with host Demi Lovato but of course due to the pandemic, this year was unlike any other. Replacing its usually packed live audience were dozens of video panels of fans from all across the country.

This year, the show included 44 categories ranging from film to pop culture so obviously some of the biggest names were there including Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Sofía Vergara, Bebe Rexha, Tyler, the Creator and others!

Here is a glimpse of some of our favorite celebs hitting the red carpet in their iconic looks.

1. Jennifer Lopez

It’s no surprise that J-Lo took home the People’s Icon award because this look alone is ICONIC. Lopez is wearing a beautiful Christian Siriano mini-dress perfected with a high ponytail, red lipstick, and a pair of nude heels. Side-note: How does this woman not age?

2. Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore looks absolutely beautiful in this sleek and chic Brandon Maxwell dress while also showing off her baby bump on the red caret for the first time. Super cute!

3. Demi Lovato

Host Demi Lovato rocked a bold Naeem Khan orange sequin matching top and bottoms on the red carpet. The best part of this fit? The way she matched her jewelry to her look! This wasn’t the only jaw-dropping look for the night as Lovato changed for a total of FIVE different looks throughout the evening, each one better than the last.

4. Tracee Ellis Ross

Tracee Ellis Ross took home this year’s Fashion Icon Award and it’s clear to see why. The Black-ish star looks amazingly elegant in a monographic trouser suit designed by Schiaparelli.

5. Mario Lopez

Simple but classic! Mario Lopez looked sharp with this black suit, completed with a burgundy dress shirt and matching black shoes. Lopez shared the stage with co-star Elizabeth Berkley Lauren from “Saved by the Bell.” The duo were promoting the highly anticipated reboot of the 90’s hit show and we are getting nostalgic just thinking about it.

6. Tiffany Haddish

We always appreciate a good floral moment and Tiffany Haddish definitely delivered. This dress was designed by Prabal Gurung for the event, where Haddish took home the award for Female Movie Star of 2020 for her work in the movie Like A Boss.

7. Brad Goreski

Brad Goreski wowed us with his eye-catching blue velvet Gucci suit, paired with Christian Louboutin black loafers, and a Southern-style bow tie. As a celebrity fashion stylist and host of the show Fashion Police, it is no surprise that this man looks like a million bucks.

8. Ellen Pompeo

Ellen Pompeo is serving looks with this sheer two-piece by David Koma paired with Jimmy Choo heels. Later in the evening, Pompeo won Best Female TV Star for her role as Meredith Grey in Grey’s Anatomy.

9. Sofía Carson

Sofía Carson turned heads with this glamorous one-shouldered gown by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. Known for her role in the Descendants series, Carson announced earlier in the week she booked a romance movie called Purple Hearts.

WOW. Sofía Vergara looks RED HOT in this corset-style bodice and voluminous skirt styled by Dolce&Gabbana. The actress accepted Comedy TV Star of 2020 for her work on Modern Family, and it was her final award for the show since it ended 9 months ago. Vergara finished her look with ruby jeweled gold sandals.

6 Celebrities Who Look EXACTLY Like Their Siblings

Anyone with siblings knows that question, “OMG are you related to (insert sibling’s name? You guys look so much alike!” It may get annoying for us, but imagine how the question is asked if you’re famous (or have a famous sibling).

Here are 6 pairs of siblings who definitely got asked that question a lot growing up:

Tia and Tamera Mowry

Of course, Tia and Tamera Mowry first comes to our mind! The identical twins rose to fame as the most adorable duo in the 90’s sitcom Sister, Sister and later starring together in the iconic Disney movie Twitches (2005) and Twitches Too (2007), the story of two teen witches who were separated at birth. The Mowry sisters had a brief reality series called Tia & Tamara from 2011 to 2013 as well. Today, both Tia and Tamara are married with children, and continue to work in television.

Zooey and Emily Deschanel

Although some of us may not have even realized these two were siblings (myself included!), it is clear to see the similarities between Zooey and Emily Deschanel with their stunning blue eyes. Emily is best known for her role as a forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan in the popular series Bones (2015-2017). Zooey portrayed a bubbly school teacher, Jessica Day, in the hit sitcom New Girl (2011-2018). Emily married It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia David Hornsby in 2010 while her young sister Zooey has been dating Property Brothers Jonathan Scott for a little over a year. Adorable!

Solange and Beyoncé Knowles

It is obvious that the Knowles have talent in their genes. Beyoncé gained stardom in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, known as one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. After a hiatus, Beyoncé began her solo career and the rest is history. Today, Beyoncé is one of the world’s best selling recording artists, and was listed among Times‘s 100 most influential people in the world in 2014. Her younger sister Solange followed in Beyonce’s footsteps as a singer-songwriter, as well as having several minor acting roles, including Bring It On: All Or Nothing (2006). What can’t these two do?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

How could we not add Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to our list? The two became childhood stars at an early age for playing Michelle Tanner on the classic series, Full House (1987-1995). The Olsens also appeared in It Takes Two (1995), All My Children (1996), and Two of a Kind (1998). Even though the twins retired from acting in 2012, they still are in business together, and currently own two successful fashion brands, The Row and Elizabeth and James.

Emma and Alex Watson

Clearly good lucks run in the Watson family. Emma Watson rose to prominence with her role as Hermione Grange in the Harry Potter films, a series lasting from 2001 to 2011. This talented actress is also a huge advocate for women’s rights, helping launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe, a campaigned advocating for gender equality. Alex made his move debut alongside his sister by appearing in two of the Harry Potter films, and in 2010 modeled in a campaign for the fashion brand Burberry. Today it seems Alex is private about his career and personal endeavors while sister Emma is working on new projects, including being appointed to French luxury group Kering’s Board of Directors in June.

Elle and Dakota Fanning

Last but not least, we have Hollywood’s dynamic duo, Elle and Dakota Fanning. Dakota Fanning gained recognition at the age of seven for her role as Lucy Dawson in the film I Am Sam (2001), receiving a Screen Actors Guild Award at eight. She also starred in Charlotte’s Web (2006), The Twilight Saga (2009-2012), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019). Her younger sister, Elle is known for her role as Princess Aurora in Maleficent (2014), and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), as well as her role as Alice Dainard in Super 8 (2011). These talented sisters are incredible actresses and we can’t wait to see what else is in store for them!
