Delicious + Nutritious Homemade Paleo Bread

Trying to eat paleo but can’t give up bread? Don’t worry! This Paleo recipe will help satisfy your bread craving while sticking to the diet.

Before getting started, you will need a breadmaker for this recipe. Luckily the machines are relatively affordable, so you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank.

TIP: Breadmakers can be found on Amazon for under $100

Now, let’s get to the ingredients!

You will need:

  • 4 Tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Flax meal
  • 3/4 Cup + 1 Tbsp water
  • 1/4 Cup coconut oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 Cup almond milk
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup (may substitute for honey)
  • 2 Cups almond flour
  • 1 1/4 Cups tapioca flour
  • 1/3 Cup coconut flour
  • 1 tsp real salt
  • 1/4 Cups flax meal
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp bread machine yeast

This may seem complicated, but don’t worry! The bread machine does most of the work.

Prepping Instructions:

In a separate bowl, mix the chia seeds and flax meal until it reaches a “gooey” like consistancy.

Next, you are going to put the eggs, coconut oil, almond milk, and syrup (or honey) into a seperate bowl.

TIP: If your coconut oil is hard, melt it in the microwave until it reaches a room temperature consistency.

Whisk the mixture until the texture is relatively smooth.

Now it’s time to combine the flax meal + chia mixture into the second bowl. Once the 2 mixtures are united, you are ready to pour the “wet batter” into the bread maker.

Next step? Place all dry ingredients into another bowl. This includes the almond flour, coconut flour, tapioca flour, salt, and flax meal. MAKE SURE TO HOLD OFF ON THE BAKING SODA!

Finally you will need ONE more bowl (last one we promise). Place the cream of tartar and baking soda into a small bowl and mix it thoroughly together. Once that’s mixed, you are ready to add it to the dry ingredients.

Once this is well mixed, you are ready to pour the dry mix in the bread maker.

TIP: This should be going directly on top of the wet mix that is already in the machine.

The final step is to create a small well in the ingredients. This is where you will sprinkle in your 2 TSP of yeast.

Finally, set the timer to 3 1/2 hours and let the machine do the work!

Once the buzzer goes off, your paleo bread is ready to cool. Slice it up to enjoy or leave it whole for later!

TIP: Slice yourself off a warm piece with a little butter – we promise it’s worth it!

She Knows

Need something tasty to bring a little more color to your morning? Toss your frozen waffles and get your kitchen ready because these tie-dye waffles are just as inviting as they are Instagram worthy. Your phone will definitely be eating first when you make these for your next brunch extravaganza! Did someone say #FoodGoals?

You will need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Pancake mix (Bisquik or Aunt Jemima works wonderfully)
  • Food coloring
  • Vanilla extract (optional)
  • 5 bowls
  • A Waffle Iron

Let’s jump right in!

  1. 1. Crack eggs into your first bowl. Make sure there are no shells!
  1. 2. Add your choice of milk and a touch of vanilla extract to taste.
  2. 3. Add your pancake mix into the bowl. Mix it up. If you don’t have a hand mixer, a little elbow grease is always recommended.
  1. 4. Separate batter into four separate bowls and mix in food coloring. If you want more colors in your tie-dye confection, separate into additional bowls. Feel free to get creative!
  1. 5. Add mixture into a Ziplock bag. To create a DIY piping bag, just snip off a bottom corner with scissors and rubber band the top. This makes the process of adding the batter to the waffle iron easier, especially if you have little helping hands involved.
  1. 6. Empty your multi-colored batters onto a heated waffle iron to create a tie-dye effect. Depending on the model you are using, cook time is usually around five minutes.
  1. 7. Once your waffles are finished cooking, garnish with whipped cream, sprinkles or your favorite fruits!

Bon Apetit!

There you have it, a magically delicious breakfast that will be sure to add sunshine to any cloudy day. Whoever said eating colorfully meant eating fruits and veggies has clearly never seen these tie-dye waffles.

Time to dig in.
