  1. Pre-freeze ice cream maker according to your devices instructions.

  3. Add your flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup. Sprinkle the apple pie seasoning over the apples and mix it all together!
  4. Get yourself a medium pan and heat the apples on the stovetop for 15-20 minutes over medium heat. Try and stir occasionally to until the apples reach a consistency of applesauce.
  5. Set aside the mixture and allow it to cool completely. If you are in a time crunch, refrigerate. You are now done with the filling!

  7. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the remaining 1 cup of heavy whipping cream.
  8. Now it’s time to refrigerate the base mixture. If the mixture happens to get too firm, you may reheat until some liquid forms again. Make sure to return to the freezer to cool rapidly.
  9. It’s time to start up your ice cream maker! before adding the liquid. Slowly pour the base liquid in the machine and churn on low for about 10 minutes. You should now have a custard like consistency. You can increase the speed and begin churning for another 5 minutes.
  10. Get your smashed apple pie filling ready and begin pouring into the ice cream.
  11. If you are choosing to add Walnuts, pour half of them in.
  12. Once the entire mixture is custard consistency, you may stop the mixer. Spoon the ice cream out into a freezer container and layer with the rest of the walnuts.
  13. Freeze for 4-6 hours and you are on the road to deliciousness!

Studies have proven that serotonin levels can have an major impact on our mood and behaviors. The chemical is often linked to better health and feeling bliss. Considering this year is a dumpster fire….we could all use A LOT more serotonin.

Besides exercise and medication, one of the most popular/natural ways to increase serotonin levels is diet. Foods with tryptophan (an amino acid that helps boost serotonin) can actually help stabilize mood disorders like anxiety and depression.

Here are 5 Foods that can help serotonin flow to your brain

2.) Salmon

Foodie Crush

High in Omegas, fatty acids, and rich in tryptophan – you really can’t go wrong with salmon.

3.) Eggs

Medical News Today

Eggs are filled with protein that are known to boost tryptophan in blood levels. For those of you who think your saving calories with egg whites – DON’T SKIP OUT ON THE YOLK! The yolk is known to hold all the nutrients of the egg along with the tryptophan,

4.) Pineapples

The Guardian
