Musicians That Dropped Christmas Albums This Year

Not to be dramatic, but 2020 has been an absolute circus, and honestly, a little holiday cheer could go a long way these days. During any regular year, the holiday season really picks up following Thanksgiving. But this year, more and more people are putting up their Christmas trees and lights early, and of course cranking some holiday tunes.

Don’t get us wrong. Nothing bumps harder than Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You,” or even Wham’s “Last Christmas.” But with this years ~extended~ holiday season, it might be easy to get burnt out on some of these classic tracks. Luckily, some of musics hottest artists are coming to the rescue with some new releases, right when we needed them most.

Dolly Parton

The Breeze

Country music legend Dolly Parton is among many musicians this year that has released a new Christmas album in 2020. “A Holly Dolly Christmas” came out this October. “A Holly Dolly Christmas” has twelve songs on it, including some originals and some classics. This release comes 30 years after her previous Christmas collection, “Home for Christmas.” But wait, there’s more! The album is not the last trick she has up her sleeve this year, she also released a Christmas special on Netflix called, Christmas on the Square.

Meghan Trainor

USA Today

She’s all about that Christmas cheer! Meghan Trainor released “A Very Trainor Christmas” this October. The album contains some of her very own Christmas tunes as well as renditions of favorites like, “Last Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland.” The pop star also collaborated with Seth MacFarlane and Earth Wind and Fire for some songs.

Carrie Underwood

Taste of Country

Carrie Underwood is another country music queen with a Christmas gift for her fans this year. Underwood released, “My Gift” in September. This is her debut Christmas album, and it has tracks featuring John Legend. Even cuter, her five-year-old son, Isaiah collaborated with his mama on “Little Drummer Boy.” As if it couldn’t get any better, she has a Christmas special airing on December 3rd on HBO Max.

Pentatonix, a Texas a capella group released their fifth Christmas album this year called, “We Need A Little Christmas.” Well said, Pentatonix. We could not agree more! The album comes with thirteen songs, including a remaster of “White Christmas,” featuring recordings of Bing Crosby’s original vocals. Now that is awesome.

Lady A

The Country Daily

We just need this now. Lady A (formerly known as Lady Antebellum) released “On This Winter’s Night” in 2012, but this fall, they released a remastered version, including several new tracks. Since the original release of the album, all three members of the group have had children, which inspired them to pen, “Christmas Through Your Eyes,” which is one of the new songs included on the album.

As Buddy the Elf once said: “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” So, what are you waiting for? Turn up the volume and warm up your vocal chords because these holiday tunes will not disappoint this Christmas season!

Five Celebrity Co-Stars that Also Dated

Just admit it, we’ve all had a workplace crush. Maybe even an office romance. Naturally, you spend a lot of time with the people you work with, and sometimes you just can’t but help to catch feelings for your coworkers. Some of Hollywood’s most famous power couples were actually co-stars before they were lovers.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

Cmon, just look at the way they look at each other. Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively met in 2010 on the set of Green Lantern. However, at the time, they were both with other people. Later in the year, they both ended their respective relationships, and in October of 2011, it was confirmed that the two were dating. A year later, they tied the knot, and since then they have stolen the hearts of many. The couple has three daughters together: James (5), Inez (3), and 9 month old Betty.

Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart

Cole Sprouse and his now ex-girlfriend Lili Reinhart met on the set of Riverdale in 2016. While fans speculated that there was a spark between the co-stars, the two were clearly very close friends. Though the two dodged these rumors for a long time, it was finally confirmed at the Met Gala in 2018 that they were a pair. For the remainder of their relationship, the two remained very private. The couple parted ways in March of 2020, and Reinhart recently came out as bisexual in June.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens

Teen Vogue

It was “The Start of Something New” for the co-stars of High School Musical when they met in 2005. Zac and Vanessa played an on-screen couple, Troy and Gabriella in the hit Disney movie series. Their love transferred from innocent, high school romance while on-screen, to a real-life smoke show. Zanessa stayed together for five years and split in 2010. Unfortunately, the couple has not kept in touch since they said, “I Gotta Go My Own Way.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Ahhhh, Brangelina. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are perhaps one of Hollywood’s most famous (former) couples. Brad and Angelina met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004. At the time, Pitt was married to Friends star, Jennifer Aniston. In 2005, they divorced and in the same year a romance bloomed between Pitt and Jolie. During their iconic relationship, the couple had six kids: Maddox (19), Pax (16), Zahara (15), John (14), Knox (12) and Vivienne (12). Sadly, the pair split in September of 2016.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Harper’s Bazaar

Another hot couple of the 2010s were Twilight co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. The couple met on the set of the vampire romance movie in 2007. Rumors of a relationship between the two became a hot topic after the premiere of the move in 2008. The couple had such great chemistry both on and off-screen. The couple rang in the new year and debuted their relationship in 2010 when they embarked on a tropical vacation together. Let’s just say that fans went wild. Sadly, the couple split in 2012 when news broke that K Stew had an affair with the director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders.
